I have also facilitated community partnerships to provide additional program support. Plus, I get to paddle the Wolf River, walk or ride my bicycle along the (expanding) Wolf River Greenway, plant trees, build bat houses, listen to frogs and lots of other really fun activities. Some of my key accomplishments included rebuilding the organization’s website and taking over the ongoing content management, assisting with writing and editing grant applications to the United States Tennis Association and local foundations (applications resulted in over $200,000 awarded to the organization), development of “Painting the Lines: Art by Tennis Players” art show fundraiser, including initial concept, coordinating logo design and marketing materials, arranging location, and managing artist participation, making a successful pitch to City of Memphis for needed court repairs (the $500,000 construction project was approved and completed on time) and developing the Summer Junior/Adult Tennis Mixer, including concept, marketing materials, event coordination and follow-up with participants ($2,000 was raised for tournament travel for junior tennis players in the Whitehaven neighborhood). I served on the MHI Board of Directors from 2002-2005 and the Education Committee from 2002-2008. As part of the Education Committee, I helped to grow the annual Preservation Series into a signature event and important fundraiser for the organization. I was involved in topic identification, speaker selection, development & distribution of marketing materials and event coordination. I also served on the Publications Committee and contributed articles and editing to the organization's newspaper.

I was a member of the Auction Committe, which put together the annual silent and live auction (and accompanying party), the largest fundraiser for the organization. I was involved in many aspects of the event planning, but mostly media relations and researching and presenting nominees for Honorary Chairman.
