    As the co-founder of the business, my role is multifaceted. When we moved here to Prince Edward County, our vision developed into creating and driving the market garden farm and bakery (beehives, microgreens, field vegetables, sourdough products and baking classes). I have taken on the responsibility of overseeing the entire operation, from the strategic level of planning and decision-making to the hands-on management of day-to-day tasks. I create the comprehensive business plan in collaboration with my partner, encompassing how the farm and bakery will operate, its unique selling points, and the target customer base. This includes setting up the infrastructure for the farm and bakery, acquiring necessary licenses, and managing all financial aspects of the business.The farm and bakery are an integral part of our local community, where we have developed relationships with residents, restaurants, and local markets to not only supply them with fresh produce and baked goods but also to build a loyal customer base. With the ever-growing digital landscape, we have implemented an ecommerce site and optimized digital project management into our operations. This entails managing the online sales platform, ensuring smooth operation. Furthermore, we employ sustainable, organic and environmentally friendly practices that are ingrained in the operations as we focus on eco-conscious consumption.Given the scale of the business, managing and directing the hiring of staff, as well as providing leadership and guidance to a team of 3-8 employees throughout the year, is essential. This includes recruiting the right talent, overseeing their training and development, managing schedules and work allocation, and fostering a positive work environment.
