My work is defined by community care and the holistic development of learners and leaders. I use creative modalities like art, music, movement and poetry to offer shared experiences that build new neural pathways and promote trauma recovery.I take a restorative approach to serving learners with diverse needs (from complex trauma to neurodivergence), and I do my best work with students who “break the mold.” I emphasize the power of relationships to heal, modeling unconditional positive regard and building trust with equitable practices and authentic support.As a school principal, I introduced innovative systems that promote deeper learning and develop executive function among students. We embraced restorative justice, transforming school discipline and conflict resolution.
