As a content developer, it energizes me to dream of new and methodologically sound ways to support students, teachers and parents. It’s a puzzle I never get tired of solving – combining academic rigor with engaging and easy-to-use content. I started as a university lecturer, and then my publishing career took off when I became part of the Macmillan family as an academic consultant, training teachers and supporting school administrators. Macmillan gave me the opportunity to nurture my aptitude for analyzing needs and problem-solving. On one occasion I restructured market requirements into an easily-applied curriculum, adopted and utilized by 200,000 students annually for five years. My mobility in this company has been enriching, as I participated in the founding of the Macmillan Miami location from the ground up. I played a key role in establishing new departments and teams. Now, as a managing publisher, I am responsible for teams across multiple offices that have created a new framework and materials to enhance Global Citizen Education and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It has been my honor and privilege as an education content developer to accept worldwide invitations to give workshops and presentations on best learning and teaching practices as well as on products that exemplify those practices.Professional Competencies• Managing complex projects• Developing innovative academic concepts• Working with multi-location teams• Aligning publishing strategy to sales • Department management• Market research• Curriculum design• Budgeting
