I am responsible for the co-ordination of the Earth Trust's Countryside Skills programme, along with supporting in the delivery of all aspects of engagement the Earth Trust undertakes, including school visits, family drop ins, playschemes and festivals.Countryside Skills is an OCN accredited GCSE equivalent course delivered to teenagers from local secondary schools and young people with a variety of disabilities.

I ran 'explorer birthday parties' for young children, involving activities from treasure hunts in the woods to building shelters and learning how to start fires without matches. I also worked at family open days and with primary and secondary school groups.

As Roots to Green Living Education Officer, I worked with seven primary schools in Hillingdon and Ealing to develop green spaces in school grounds and help teachers to incorporate the environment into the curriculum.

Camp Wild is a summer camp for children aged 6 to 12, aiming to "connect you to the natural world". As an instructor, I led groups of up to 25 children in activities both on and off site, ranging from team-building games to pond-dipping, rock-pooling, and fossil hunting, and building shelters and learning to start campfires. As well as organising and leading educational activities, I was responsible for all aspects of the children's care during their stay.

I was a member of the Lulworth Estate's annual ecological survey team, conducting a variety of surveys including Pollard transects for butterflies and BTO Breeding Bird Surveys. Other taxa included plants, ants and moths. I led the analysis and reporting of the Estate's long-term data set.

I assisted with all desk-based aspects of C3's research and conservation projects, including writing funding proposals, planning research, developing methodology, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, data analysis, and compiling reports and publications.

As a volunteer with the ranger team, I helped out with a variety of land management and environmental education activities.

Projects included raising awareness of marine conservation issues with the local scout group, surveying turtle nests, lecture and literature review writing and preparing for and conducting a 5 week field trip to interview Key Informants on the north east coast in a socioeconomic study.

Assisting a PhD student from the University of Groningen, in collaboration with Ghana Wildlife Society, work included mist-netting, ringing and resighting birds, sampling and identifying insects, and habitat surveys.

I sorted all the invertebrates collected on the OU Mozambique Expedition to Order, and mounted and identified all Coleoptera to Family.

Along with three others, I carried out an ecological survey of Mareja Community Reserve, Mozambique, and trained reserve rangers and staff and students from the nearby University in field research techniques. Research included Rapid Botanical Surveys, insect sampling, small mammal trapping and camera trapping. I also managed the budget and accounting for the expedition.
