Currently I work at Magic Wok in Lambertville, Michigan and have been there for almost 2 years. I was a private tutur for 2 years and a reading mentor for 5 years, where I read with kindergarten and first grade students. My senior year of high school, I worked as a nurseaid at a nursing home in Monroe, Michigan. Some of my duties included, feeding the residents and recording their intake, checking vitals such as blood pressure, and getting residents ready and in bed. Working as a nurseaid was part of the reason that I chose to major in Nursing. My academic goal is to maintain a 3.8 gpa or above and apply for the Nursing program. I would also like to become involved on campus and join organizations such as the Student Nurses Association. Although I am a nursing major, I have always considered becoming an immunologist or a specialist in infectious disease. Therefore, I will always be interested in doing research in these two fields. In the next year or two, I would love to get an internship working in a hospital. I would also like to shadow nurses in different areas such as pediatrics. My career goal is to be a nurse at a major hospital in a big city; however, I am not yet sure what I would like to specialize in. Right now I am looking into becoming a registered nurse anesthetist.
