Mariessa co-founded Enchanted Forest Nurseries in 2006 with her husband, Bernie Devlin. Enchanted Forest Nurseries was very focused on ensuring the brand became the Early Learning and Childcare provider of choice for all locations in the West of Scotland. With a small financial set-up investment in 2006, Mariessa & Bernie grew their brand to five nurseries and in June 2019 sold Enchanted Forest Nurseries in an off-market deal for an undisclosed fee.Such is her experience in the Early Years industry, Mariessa has appeared on BBC Politics Scotland to be interviewed on Business Rates and was instrumental in the recent rates relief in Scotland for childcare. Mariessa has appeared on STV Glasgow and is delighted that under her stewardship Enchanted Forest Nurseries regularly appeared on BBC & STV News as part of high profile politician visits. In 2016, Mariessa and Bernie bought One Cove Road, a well renowned coffee shop in Gourock. With the attention to detail that motivates Mariessa and Bernie, in January 2020, they transformed the coffee shop with a full renovation and rebrand creating www.thecovegourock.co.uk As with all of Mariessa's business interests, the heart of the coffee shop is all about the people - those who visit and the team. The internal vibe speaks for itself.Having enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world, Mariessa and Bernie relish the opportunity to bring luxury to travellers and have apartments in Gleneagles which they rent out to those seeking boutique experiences. This arm of business, recently led Mariessa to undertake a diploma in Interior Design and has resulted in the launch of Devlin Interior Design with the understanding that 'The Best Spaces Tell a Story, Your Story' being the company goal.
