🖖 HELLO, I'M MARIE • I empower speakers, authors, entrepreneurs and experts to define, refine and share their Visionary Message in online and traditional media with optimal impact. 🎯 MEDIA STRATEGIST TO VISIONARIES • I connect Visionaries who have big ideas with the audiences who need them. How? With an effective media strategy. Together we craft clear and impactful messaging that meets the exact needs of niche media and the communities they serve. This means Visionaries reach delighted audiences, while media outlets big and small can easily deliver quality content.💡 SPEAKER, TRAINER & FACILITATOR • For over two decades, I have ignited international audiences with practical presentations, training and workshops. My trademark is what her audiences take home: unstoppable enthusiasm and bumper virtual goodie bags with hands-on next steps to take action on what they learn. 🎙 MAFIA BOSS • My Media Strategy Mafia membership program is a public service where budding Visionaries can sharpen their media strategy and skills. Associate members can join free of charge to take advantage of a monthly live Q&A session and other benefits. 🌍 MICROBIOME ENTHUSIAST • Based on the scientific evidence, I believe it is the mighty microbiome that enables the Earth and our bodies to thrive. This process runs full circle, from growing and preparing lush, natural, whole foods to composting, all the way back to planting. If you ever want to talk food, flavour, fermenting, composting or growing, that is where my heart beats. 🛠 WORK IN PROGRESS • Perfection? I'm not there. I am very much a work in progress. But that's half the fun. 🔗 LET'S CONNECT • Where can I serve you best? CaregivingCareer Break Dec 2018 - Jul 2020In December 2018 I set aside my international career ambitions to address a personal priority. My brother Max had suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2011, leaving him with severely impaired movement and speech and variable cognitive function. Although he had been recovering well with the help of a dedicated caregiving and therapy team, I had an urge to know what would be possible with a very deliberate therapeutic regimen.I left my exciting position as assistant professor at the University of Nottingham's exotic Malaysia campus to find out. Caring for my brother's 24-hour needs and his environment became my core responsibility. But my real quest was to support him in unlocking the possibilities for improvement — physically, mentally and emotionally. The process involved: • Daily exercise with systems like passive exercise, modified yoga, stretching and brain gym• Daily cognitive therapy through reading together, discussion, courses and later Max reading aloud• Regular occupational therapy with hand exercises, activities and games• Refinements to caregiving systems and practices in the home• Nutritional planning and involving him in recipe creation• Assisting him in publishing his own book online (http://gum.co/urbanpharmherbs)• Streamlining of administrative tasks• Training and team-building for future caregiversHis progress in this time justified the effort many times over. He gained muscle mass, improved his coordination and strength, increased his speech fluency and comprehensibility, developed skills to manage the emotional challenges of his situation and, overall, attained a far higher quality of life. Despite these triumphs, the situation remains challenging. my brother does still have persistent limitations and pain, however well he and his team manage them. The outcomes of this career break came at a high price. Nevertheless, I believe it was worthwhile. When Max passed away in June 2023, I think we were both at peace.
