• My recently submitted PhD was an industry project in collaboration between Monash University & CSIRO. The project characterised natural enzymes to synthesise beta peptides. These enzymes were also used to synthesise.
• Isolation of natural enzymes for use in synthesis of β peptides.
• Designed and executed a range of screening methods to identify microorganisms capable of synthesising β-peptides, resulting in the identification of four microorganisms.
• Isolated and characterized the enzymes from these microorganisms for use in synthesising β-peptides. Techniques; cloning, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, HPLC, LC-MS, protein crystallisation.
• Assay development & troubleshooting.
• Successfully developed & optimised enzyme assays & demonstrated synthesis capability of enzymes.
