About Marija Jovanovic

Hi and welcome to my linkedin. Here, I hope you can get to know me a little bit more. I love learning about the genome and the complexity behind it. I love exploring big data sets to decode the intricate interactions underneath it all. I love solving problems, finding solutions, and getting things done. Recently, I finished my MSc at Simon Fraser University, where my research focused on tracking the dynamics of a post-transcriptional modification throughout development using over 1,000 RNA-seq datasets. On top of being involved with the graduate student society, I started a student-led Omics group, which started with monthly meetings and has grown to include workshops, journal clubs, and even annual research days. Other things that make me excited or happy are taking walks on sunny days, dance, snowboarding, and making cards.
