As the school psychologist at Winnetka Public Schools, I had the privilege of working cooperatively with both the regular and special education staff to ensure that individualized educational services were delivered effectively to all students. By collaborating along side of my dedicated colleagues, we were able to design and implement a MTSS and Response to Intervention (RTI) program that aimed to meet each student's unique needs. In my role as an educational leader, I conducted comprehensive child study evaluations, providing timely feedback on assessments to both teachers and parents in a clear and mindful manner. This allowed us to connect evaluation results with diagnostic interpretation conclusions, enabling us to develop specific evidence based intervention strategies for each student. By benchmarking student progress through collaboration with teachers and parents, we ensured that every child received the necessary support they needed academically and behaviorally. To further enhance our collaborative efforts, I organized and co-led educational in-services for teachers and parents which proved instrumental in fostering a supportive community between home and school.One of my significant contributions was streamlining our evaluation process so it aligned seamlessly with the district's progressive, developmental, and child-centered philosophy. Recognizing that shared leadership is vital for a thriving educational environment, I actively participated in numerous shared leadership activities such as serving on a wide range of committees like the Safe to Learn Committee, Summer Institute Planning Committees, District MTSS/RTI Committee, Department of Pupil Services Leadership team, etc. – always contributing innovative ideas while aiding district-wide decision-making processes.In conclusion. It is a privilege to teach, grow, and share learning and knowledge with others.
