My main attributes are curiosity and excellent organizational and communicational skills. Working as a research scientist in a team of 20 people, I have every day chance to learn and discover about the world around us, but also to coordinate different activities in order to get the best performance.I have a PhD in Ecology from Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia and currently work on BioSense Institute in Novi Sad. My specialization and research interests are focused on the examination of the negative effects of disturbances (including climate change) on insect diversity (both taxonomic and functional).Vision that I had since I started studying biology and ecology was to do something to help preservation of species. Through active participation in Hoverfly Specialist Group of the IUCN, I work on the extinction risk assessments, which supplements my work on prioritization of areas for conservation of species.Through the participation in many field surveys in Serbia, but also across Southeast Europe, I obtained extensive fieldwork experience in biodiversity monitoring and in field experiments. I am skilled in ecological data management and analysis using R environment.My creative side is manifested through the authorship of peer-reviewed scientific papers.Participating in several international and national projects, organizing an International scientific conference, being part of management of IUCN Hoverfly Specialist Group, as well as being part of an international multidisciplinary laboratory based in Helsinki helped me develop leadership, analytical, project management and problem solving skills.Being engaged in teaching for 3 years contributed in development of my communication and presentation skills.Apart from doing science, in my free time I enjoy reading, playing board and card games, watch crime TV shows and spend time in nature.
