I also worked on projects in the NYISO, PJM, and ERCOT markets.Major achievements:- Negotiated a renewable energy deal worth nearly $1 billion on behalf of Linde and 10 other large industrials.- Reduced costs by $2.6 million by developing predictive models to avoid transmission and capacity peak charges. My modelling was an improvement of over 300% on previous efforts.- Influenced energy policy, resulting in a $940k cost avoidance.- Established participation in demand response programs leading to a cost reduction of $650k. -

My thesis was sponsored by global consultancy, GHD, and involved mathematical modelling in Matlab/Simulink of battery systems (li-ion, sodium sulfur, and vanadium flow batteries) for utility scale wind farms in the South Australia market to firm capacity and arbitrage the spot market. I presented my thesis at the Conference of the Wind Power Engineering Community 2013 in Berlin, Germany. I also received the Joint Chemical Engineering Committee of NSW prize for best thesis. -
