Now being responsible for events range from a standard 3 day workshop in European destination for approx 100-200 delegates with technical programme, offsite dinners and field trips, to the main annual Conference and Exhibition for 6000+ delegates. In my role as conference coordinator I am project leader of several projects/events. For example project leader of the Near Surface Conference & Exhibition, which entails an extensive technical programme, exhibition, field demonstrations, field trips and several workshops for around 250 pax. As a project leader I coordinated the project team during the preparations of this event. During the main annual Conference & Exhibition for 6000+ delegates I was responsible for all pre event and onsite management of the catering supplier, hostess requirements and the offsite gala dinner and entertainment evening for 3000 guests. Other activities included the following:- Liaising with chairmen and technical committee- Managing technical programme (submisson process, review process, TP selection process, communication with speakers, publishing technical programme online)- Sponsorship management- Sourcing venues and suppliers- Site visit and selection- Liaising with the communication department regarding all marketing actvities- Managing budgets- Creating and updating event web pages - Planning and execution of social events onsite- Onsite event management

The environment of doctors and professors is a perfect basis to start organising scientific events. In a period of 10 months I assist with organising several events and organised a farewell symposium of 100 people within the hospital. During this internship I discovered that event organising is my passion and my aim is to satisfy all parties involved.
