I was responsible for managing several research projects, encompassing areas of staff satisfaction (mixed methods study) and culturally diverse parents' understanding of and experiences with their child's autism (qualitative study). I was further actively involved in evaluating the rollout of a new service delivery model by collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data and reporting my findings back to the project team.

As chair of the board of the Dutch Community Language School 'Duyfkenschool' in Brisbane, my duties involved ensuring the board works according to the school plan and year plans, and reviewing the performance of the principal of the school. I was further actively involved in running events and set up the school's toddler group. This group has been running to full capacity since commencement in 2016 and attracts additional students to the school.

I am a general member of the board of the Duyfkenschool - a Dutch language school in Brisbane. Targets of this school are to facilitate learning and sustaining knowledge of the Dutch language and culture for Dutch children in Brisbane. With subsidies of the Dutch government to international Dutch schools cancelled from 2016, our main focus will be on securing sponsors to ensure continuity of the Duyfkenschool.

I acted as editorial assistant on an edited book, "Inclusive Education for the 21st Century: Theory, Policy and Practice", where I was responsible for editing and formatting book chapters and providing general support to ensure timely completion of the manuscript. I also co-authored two chapters in this book: "Fundamental concepts of inclusive education" (Chapter 2) and "Making adjustments to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment" (Chapter 9). I further conducted research into the use of inclusive education legislation across academic publications. These analyses informed a presentation at an international conference as well as the preparation of a manuscript for an academic journal article (currently under review). I left this position to dedicate more time to my PhD degree.

I worked as a Research Assistant at ACU's Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE), and most recently worked in the Research Concentration 'Assessment, Evaluation and Student Learning'. As part of my work, I liaised with principals, teachers, students and parents to ensure timely completion of data collection. I have also organised three academic conferences for ILSTE (formerly LSIA).Prior to this, I worked in the Research Concentration 'Enhancing Literacy and Engagement for Overcoming Disadvantage and I have written literature reviews about Self-Regulated Learning, Education for Sustainability, mathematical literacy and reading engagement. I gave weekly tutorials to preservice educators as part of the unit "Early Childhood and Primary Assessment 1: Summative and Diagnostic Assessment" in QUT's Bachelor of Education (Primary, Early Childhood) and prepared students to successfully complete two assessment tasks. One assessment task formed the prerequisite for students to commence their professional experience placement. As part of this role, I offered individual feedback sessions to students who had submitted an unsatisfactory draft assessment. As a result, many students passed the assessment and successfully completed their practical placement. In addition, I received positive feedback from students via email, and the university’s student survey showed a positive comment on my approachability and friendliness. I further delivered an online lecture on inclusive assessment, thereby translating my PhD research to practical advice to preservice educators. I effectively operated in a team with the unit coordinator and second tutor to ensure consistency of teaching and support. This team-based approach extended to assessment processes, where I participated in assessment moderation meetings.

I was responsible for marking and moderating three assessments in the unit "Inclusive Education: Theory, Policy and Practice", as part of the Master of Education (Inclusive Education) degree. I further presented a guest lecture on inclusive assessment, and assisted the unit coordinator with administrative duties such as distributing of course materials to students and preparing referrals of students suspected of plagiarism to the Faculty's Academic Misconduct Committee.

I tested prep school and primary school students (CELF-4, PIML, Who am I, PPVT, EVT) and processed these test results in SPSS. I further liaised with teachers and school administrators to ensure a smooth testing process. I have also completed a CLASS Observation training (K-3), and have used these skills to reliably conduct classroom observations.

I taught Dutch children in the age of 4-6 years old, and followed the Dutch language curriculum. As these children are living in Australia, the emphasis lied on maintaining and further developing their Dutch language skills.
