Weather-based traffic modelling: Case study of Ülemiste City. The continuous development of Ülemiste City is data-driven in five main areas: economy, knowledge, community, services and environment. The mobility is a part of environmental goal, whose implementation adresses the management of sustainable mobility through the increase of the use of light traffic, the improvement of accessibility to the Ülemiste City by public transportation, advanced parking management and vehicle sharing services. Two research questions were posed within the study:-- Can machine learning methods support the development of a Smart City sustainable environment, as, for example, by modelling the traffic flow considering weather properties;-- What type of datasets and/or features, as well as machine learning approaches are mostly suitable/appropriate for traffic flow forecasts.The study focused on the developing of models forecasting the traffic flow--amount of incoming/outgoing cars and vans to the Ülemiste City considering the weather properties. The models developed were the Basic (naive) model and ML models: Linear Regression, Linear Regression with Huber Loss and XGBoost. The models were developed for univariate: traffic, and multivariate: traffic and weather time series. The importance of selected weather properties on models performance was evaluated by 'Gain' importance type and SHAP.The study results received demonstrated that the models developed have sufficient forecast accuracy to estimate the number of incoming/outgoing cars and vans with a step of 30 minutes. The weather parameters selected improved the accuracy of the models compared to the ones including the traffic counts only.

The objectives of the project included the quantification of the micro-structure and mineralogical composition of the cement paste around the fibre and correlating the results obtained with the macro-scale behavior of the final composite.Qualitative evaluation of the micro-structure and mineralogical composition was implemented by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and computed tomography combined with phase contrast imaging (mCT).The data received by applying the methods described consisted of gray-scale images. Image analysis was to quantify the micro-structure and mineralogical composition. The tools employed included Fiji(ImageJ), R and Python. The machine learning methods (ML) were applied to distinguish between the different phases of the cement paste. A deep learning model was built to determine the porosity of the cement paste based on the mCT images.
