CurrentDuties, accomplishments, and related skillsResponsibilities Conduct patient intake procedures to include obtaining general medical information. Take and record patient vital signs, blood pressure, and temperature. Assist physician in performing procedures and exams. Prepare and administer prescribed medication by various means. Monitor patients after medication administration for reactions and complications. Act as liaison between patient and primary medical care provider. Recognize changes in patient? condition, and communicates responses and/or changes to nursing personnel or physician. Use medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients. Staff procedure room, ensuring availability of equipment, instruments, and supplies for exams and procedures, and cleaning rooms after exams. Ensure medical records are prepared and available; ensuring proper computer entry of patient data. Perform entry level triage of patients within a clinic environment, screening exams independently and efficiently, in an often fast-paced environment. Provide health care to a range of patients presenting with complex or multiple systems dysfunctions and/or disorders. Direct the flow of patients; obtain medical and personal data and accurately transcribe into the patient medical record (hard copy and/or electronic) according to established techniques and procedures. Obtain medical history, including medications, allergies, chief complaint, past, surgical, and medical information from patients. Serve as primary point of contact of High Level Disinfection (HLD). Confirm proper preparation, cleaning disinfection and sterilization of surgical and clinical instruments/equipment. Serve as a scrub technician in the operating room for a variety of complex otolaryngology procedures. Confirm the sterile condition and adequacy of supplies in patient care areas and storage rooms.
