I am currently an Environmental Consultant and Aquatic Specialist at Nemai Consulting, Randburg, South Africa (SACNASP and EPASA registrations are in review).I have a longstanding background in agricultural as well as natural sciences including receiving a BSc zoology degree, BSc Honours degree in Entomology, MSc degree in Veterinary Entomology and a PhD degree in Zoology with a special focus on parasitology. I have also completed a year of post-doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria.Being raised and spending working holidays on my parents’ farm, I have developed an appreciation for science, ecology, agriculture and nature conservation. It is my passion to contribute to this industry while using the skills set I have acquired in my studies. During my development as a scientist, my love for natural sciences has grown in leaps and bounds.As a graduate student, I have been fortunate enough to attend academic and practical courses for example; Geographic Information Systems, SPSS statistics, and writing programs both online and at the postgraduate school at the University of Johannesburg. I have also been very fortunate to attend and present at international and national conferences (PARSA 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021). In 2020 I presented a poster at the University of Johannesburg's postgrad online poster symposium. I have helped coordinate and plan several academic and non-academic projects such as the marketing research program (2015 and 2016) for the South African Brahman Breeders Association, the South African Beef Genomics project and the Brahman World Congress held in April 2014.I have more than doubled my practical field and laboratory experience since completing my PhD degree, engaging in and familiarising myself with issues brought forward in the natural and agricultural research fields, focusing on the sharing of scientific knowledge in a practical manner for implementation as well as education. I have excellent research, leadership, communication, numeracy, writing and presentation skills among other attributes. I work effectively with co-workers, management and the public actively achieving anything I set my mind to. I also believe in building lasting relationships based on trust and respect while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. In my free time, I love to spend as much time in nature as possible.
