Marilyn Allen, local native of Flandreau, SD.J.D. Candidate at Knudson School of Law pursuing studies focused in Indian Law. President of Native American Law Student Association, members of Marjorie Breeden Society, Black Law Student Association, and OUTLaws. After graduation, plans to work with tribal entities and state offices. Prior to law school, interned for the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe Legal Department. Primarily focused on learning fundamentals of medical marijuana laws and compliance, while also learning the procedures for tribal constitutions and codes. Previously, graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a B.S. in American Indigenous Studies, and minor in business law.
