Responsible for all stock purchases and inventory management for the Akzo Nobel Storeroom including, mechanical seals, expantion joints, valves,orings, rupture disc, convoluted hoses, all safety related items, drill bits, crowsfeet and conduit. Developed the warehouse from empty storeroom to full with all stock items. Most items had no previous history of supplier or manufacture. Worked with engineering to establish descriptions and suitable replacements. Worked in two systems, first system was to enter the order to Turtle & Hughes (SAP) and then had to place the order to the supplier in the (Turtle) system. Did research on internet to find new suppliers and worked with them to get the best possible price and freight. Invited suppliers to warehouse to tour and come up with lists of items that could be grouped together for for volume discounts. When my warehouse man that I was supervising was in a meeting, out of office or busy I would unload the UPS truck, pull stock items for milwrights and operators. I wanted to make sure the customer comes first. When they requested new items for stock I asked them to explain the item, what is was used for and the purpose of the new item.
