Tax Manager
• Client service and management: - Leads timely, high quality client service delivery from start to finish.- Acts as trusted business advisor by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice using analysis, experience and judgment. - Assist partners with managing job recovery and budgets.• Team/talent management and coaching: - Active management of team workflow by ensuring jobs are delegated appropriately accounting for skill levels, workloads and delivery deadlines. - Ensure development plans, progress reviews, year-end reviews, and coaching conversations with junior staff and team members are conducted as per timeframes set by the firm.- Fosters professional growth of others by creating an environment of continuous learning and development, sharing expertise and knowledge. • Business development - Contribution to sales and business development activity by contributing to proposals/presentations, building current client relationships, building of personal brand and eminence, actively sharing ideas with clients, and considering opportunities for cross-selling. • Core technical skills:- Actively managing client’s routine compliance matters, including preparation of income tax returns, review/preparation of tax balances for financial reporting, and advising clients on ongoing obligations for provisional tax, GST, PAYE, FBT and other ancillary taxes as required.- Liaising with Inland Revenue on behalf of clients, and managing Inland Revenue risk reviews/audits/voluntary disclosures.- Advising clients on complex tax issues and implications of the business in respect of operations, capital acquisitions/capital raising, M&A etc. through informed application of tax laws and regulations.- Reviewing work of junior staff for correctness, accuracy and commercial relevance in line with client needs.
