I grew our mailing list to over 100,000 people, oversaw the creation of multiple new software products, created an annual international microgrid conference, and created a thought leadership newsletter and website. We sold to UL (a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratory) at the end of 2019. -

The original PlayFair Toys concept was to avoid all toys that were perceived as "gender focused," such as dolls and toy trucks. I purchased the company and converted it to an ecommerce site, expanded the retail locations, and tripled revenues within the first three years, from $500K to $1.5M. I expanded the book section and brought back dolls and toy trucks, but avoided all toys that encouraged violence or stereotypes. I sold the company in 2010 in order to focus on renewable energy.

My primary duty in this position was to co-direct the Bonanza Creek Long-Term Ecological Research program funded through the National Science Foundation and the USDA FS. As one of the two lead scientists on the project, I was responsible for integrating and presenting our findings and proposals to the funding agencies as well as the scientific community. -
