I bought my first duplex in the Olympia South Capitol neighborhood in 2001. My first project (working with an old world craftsman) was the renovation of the Jefferson Street duplex, which greatly pleased the City of Olympia inspectors, and a comment that the home "belonged on This Old House". A couple of years later, to answer the demands of the State Legislative Session, I converted the Jefferson Street duplex to a furnished home. The success of my furnished rental efforts began the conversion of the rest of my homes to furnished homes. My latest venture involved the purchase, furnishing and landscape renovation (quite extensive since the home was in danger of being crushed by large trees and was sitting on a "lake") of the Water Street duplex in the summer of 2008.
