Together with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), European DIGITAL SME Alliance has launched a Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The JRC is monitoring the development, uptake and impact of AI in Europe as foreseen in the EU Coordinated Plan on Artificial Intelligence adopted in December 2018 via AI WATCH . As part of its role, the JRC is seeking close feedback from AI intensive companies to monitor the adoption of AI technologies in relation with the impact of EU initiatives on the topic.Along with my company, we joined in the first wave and we are providing specialized AI expertise to the Focus Group in order to define the current state of adoption of AI and the changes generated by the adoption of AI - including the social and economic impacts of these changes. https://www.digitalsme.eu/european-focus-group-on-artificial-intelligence/

One of the most interesting and rewarding experience from the perspective of capabilities enablement, the Python Essentials course - organized by Cluj IT Cluster - has aimed to support IT companies for enlarging the spectrum of their capabilities and accelerate their business growth.As a Python trainer, my role was related to design the learning path, develop the course curricula, make sure that the course materials were relevant, train students in an accelerated manner and also ensure that the students remain engaged (no one dropped from the course).As a positive externality for the companies participating in the Cluj IT's initiative, we have explored adjacent horizons such as basics of machine learning, web APIs and back-end solution development - all these potentially opening new service offerings or expanding existing business lines.In total, I trained 2 series of approximately 10 students/series and 6 companies have benefited from this capability enablement initiative. In the end - 50% of the students have managed to also get the PCEP internationally recognized certification.It was a very interesting journey of professional and personal accomplishments both for me and for the students participating in the course.

I joined during the early days of the Evozon and supported the company in the transition from early startup to the stable, consolidated phase. Main responsibilities during this period:- Assessing and identifying pain points in the technology setup and roadmap;- Ensuring leadership's team necessary support in defining viable strategies and making sound technical choices;- Establishing foundations for simple and pragmatic projects and initiatives management across the company;- Support directly the projects from a technical and management perspective;- Mentor the company personnel in one-to-one and community of practice engagements.

The mission was to ensure the proper management for the project on subontractor's premises. Responsible for:- Elaborating, negotiating, tracking and maintaining the project plan;- Ensure the realization of deliverables, ensure good control for the project variables;- Communication and alignment between the project team and project stakeholders;- Ensure new site launch and transfer to operations.The new site was launched and was functional, realizing the projected benefits for the customer.

The mission was to design and drive the implementation for a data warehouse for Lynda.comMain responsibilities: - Assist the discovery and formalization of business processes;- Devise the data architecture for the data warehouse;- Drive and assist the data warehouse implementation along with customer's team;- Support iterative extension of the data-warehouse (data ingestion, processing pipelines, reports ...)At the end of the engagement the data warehouse was fully operational and supported the evaluation and strategic decision making for main site re-implementation.

The mission was to ensure the success of the first data-warehouse implementation for my client. The data-warehouse was implemented for a USA telco company - BlueCasa.Main responsibilities:- Perform business process discovery on customer's side and identify value streams;- Agree with the customer's top management main measures, KPIs and reports which will be provided by the data warehouse;- Drive the data architecture of the data warehouse and ensure its consistency during implementation;- Set up the pilot delivery project;- Manage the project life-cycle from pilot/MVP toward full implementation;- Liaise with the customer's management team in regards with the data interpretation, new features;- Liaise with the customer's products team for integration (such as operational service performance, fraud profiling, etc).At the end of my engagement the data warehouse was fully functional and in less than two months it delivered critical business insights to the top management (across operational, financial and customer segments).

Hired with a clear mission: to help my customer set up and develop a business unit that would provide services to Nokia Professional Services in Cluj Napoca.Main responsibilities:- Setting up the initial engagement framework for collaboration between Softvision and Nokia Professional Services;- Project management services for the first pilot projects;- Refinement of the management and delivery processes across the entire portfolio of projects. Performing transition to SCRUM approach for project delivery;- Consolidation of projects under a common governance, setting up the Nokia Managed Services program foundations;- Program consolidation and hand-over to client's management team.At the end of the engagement, in less than one year and a half - the program had more than 10 projects completed or active, with more than 50 active persons involved.
