Dr. Kostov is a director and technical lead for structural and seismic analysis and design, and external hazard assessment with over 30 years of experience. An external expert of IAEA for earthquake engineering and seismic hazard assessment. Head of Earthquake Engineering Department at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Professor in Mechanics of Solids, emeritus since 2018. Consultant and Head of projects for engineering applications and research in wave propagation, structure dynamics, risk analysis, impact analyses, severe accidents, risk mitigation, risk monitoring, risk assessment, elements of risk studies, normative documents, standards and regulations. Participation in more than 20 international NPP external safety review missions of IAEA. More than 150 scientific reports and papers on seismic risk, structural dynamics and safety evaluation of nuclear installations.Dr. Kostov is experienced in renewable energy projects, hydro energy, PV industrial applications, construction and construction supervision, environmental engineering, critical structure site selection, etc.
