During the last 20 years, before retirement, I was Executive Director of Global Education and the chief international officer on campus, responsible for fostering global education and advancing international objectives across colleges and schools. Responsible for leadership and support for the International Services for Students and Scholars office which administers visa-related services, cross-cultural programs, counseling and advisement services for 750 students from 98 countries. Sets the guidelines and administers the Global Education Grant program which provides over 50 grants to MSU faculty for international projects annually. Manages all linkages and contractual agreements with international institutions; sets policies to help advance internationalization on campus; manages the Global Education Distinguished International Scholars’ program and scholar visits; develops protocol guidelines for Fulbright and other visiting scholars; oversees the Study Abroad and Student Exchange programs; International Summer Institutes in 6 countries, the GE Center lecture series and the International Scholar House; developed and manages the Teaching in English Faculty Development Program overseas and on campus.
