Current projects review and update of City's zoning-related ordinances.

This is an independent research project exploring the potential of non-residential historic real estate in Los Angeles and around. I believe that every old building deserves an adequate modern function.I am sure that historic appeal and architectural merit can be crucial selling points and can give a clue to the most beneficial new use. In a series of posts, I explore some amazing old buildings and test how their historic legend can shape their brighter future.

Covered Design Review and Historic Preservation projects. Coordinated the development of Design Standards and Design Guidelines for ADUs on historic properties (California Preservation Foundation's Award in 2022).

Historic research, landmark nominations, Mills Act applications, code analysis, archival and portfolio management.

Took part in the historic resources survey using ESRI Survey 123 App, maintained the city's California Historic Resources Inventory Database, presented before the Historic Preservation Commission, Design Commission, and the City Council, and spent a lot of time researching in the City’s archive.

Developed a conceptual and organizational framework for a public educational project, including a detailed program for the first two semesters. Invited speakers, served as a moderator for the discussions, gave a lecture on Revitalization of neglected historic resources.

With a multi-disciplinary team, developed proposals for revitalizing of more than 20 abandoned historic sites, including historical research, infrastructure evaluation, feasibility studies, and financial modeling. Presented the proposals at multiple venues, including Federal Ministry of Culture, City of Moscow Department of Economic Development, Administration of the Moscow Region, etc. Curated two exhibitions at the Museum of Moscow (on old factories and country estates).

Run an international NGO, including organizational and administrative functions. Analyzed architectural and urban planning projects affecting Moscow's historic environment. Organized campaigns against multiple demolitions of historic buildings. Maintained a bilingual website, issued monthly bilingual bulletins. Organized discussions, lectures, and exhibitions.
