Volunteer Sea otter fieldwork:-Assist in collection of sea otter foraging and abundance data -Record data and spotted otters using binoculars and a Questar field spotting scope

Linn Benton Salmon Watch Educator:-Taught 5th and 6th graders within an experiential field trip program -Assisted with set up and take down of program day, including leading multiple hands-on learning activities focused on salmon and ecosystem health -Facilitated conversations with students and encouraged individual learning in alignment of the student-centered learning approach of the organization

-Responsible for the rearing and caring of multiple salmonid species. Duties included scheduled feedings, cleaning of tanks, and assisting in research-Other assigned duties included upkeep and cleaning of indoor and outdoor facilities including landscaping

Planned and executed independent research study under the mentorship of Claire Couch and James Peterson. My project was focused on the analysis of stomach contents in juvenile Chinook salmon from Lookout Point Reservoir in the upper Willamette basin. Published results in "SPATIOTEMPORAL INDEX OF INFECTION SEVERITY OF A COPEPOD, S. CALIFORNIENSIS, THAT PARASITIZES JUVENILE CHINOOK SALMON IN THE WILLAMETTE RIVER BASIN" a Draft Annual Report for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Presented results in a short talk during 2021s Celebrating Undergraduate Excellence event at OSU, and presented results as a poster at ORAFS and WSN both in 2023. Manuscript in progress!

-Climate Change, Citizen arts and Sciences intern-Assisted with day-to-day organization and implementation of the research and community engagement projects under the Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative -Drafted study summary document for a long term phenological research study, including detailed protocols and other resources for community scientists to utilize -Created art with the goal of communicating science and engaging community members

-Independently performed stream surveys that included fish counts and field necropsies -Trained as a USGS volunteer and an OSU student worker -Cross trained with ODFW for walking stream surveys and float surveys in white water kayaks and tower rafts-Fixed tissues in the lab and assisted with Copepod plucking of egg cases and care of eggs and larvae, required basic familiarity with professional laboratory operations and lab safety

-Gear rentals, customer service, gear maintenance, community involvement and team bonding-Teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills required in completing tasks

-Planning and creating programming for individual and group development challenges though portable initiatives, low course elements as well as the high ropes course-Worked with diverse demographics, and adapted my strategies to be culturally competent and aware -Adapted program plan depending on group dynamics in the moment-Collaborated with my fellow facilitators to ensure that the groups we work with have the developmental experience that they desire, all while in a safe and positive growing environment-Responsible for participant safety and competency working at height including experience with technical climbing equipment -Teamwork, communication, debriefing and problem solving skills required for smooth execution of our programs

-Served as an ambassador to the Adventure Living Learning Community; a group of freshman that share the second floor of Finley hall on OSU campus-Organized and facilitated community building gatherings such as outdoor activities, trips, and lessons-Worked with fellow ambassadors to create activities that aligned with community strengthening goals

-Responsible for the safety and maritime education of children from ages 6 to 18 -Operated a motorized coach boat out on the water for safety and instructing purposes -Taught children the basics of sailing and racing, in both optimuses and flying juniors

-Teen volunteer position in which I educated visitors on the aquarium and the marine environment -Logged over 120 volunteer hours as an interpreter on the floor, interacting with the public-Gained knowledge about the marine environment, marine conservation, and education outreach-Developed strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
