I am the Area and Marketing Manager for four, family owned, restaurants managing around 90 employees. Working closely with the owners and managers of each of the restaurants, I ensure all the operations are in order. I am in charge of all aspects of marketing within the business, such as; managing all social media accounts, creating marketing campaigns, sourcing and buying branded clothing, creating and managing email campaigns, talking to local newspapers and radio stations to create different adverts. In the operations side, I am in charge of creating and rolling out contracts/ job summaries/ rules and regulations for all employees. Ensuring that all staff receives the relevant training for their job role and that they are health and safety complaint. Implementing structures and procedures in terms of paperwork for accounting purposes, stocktakes, weekly business, payroll.

I manage all the events for the UK’s leading cloud computing company iomart. I was initially appointed as a data analyst and helped the company launch its first automated marketing campaigns using a new suite of software. This role involved creating and managing email campaigns as well as maintaining and managing a marketing database. After a few months I was promoted to events co-ordinator for the Group which involves planning and delivering all iomart’s corporate events and exhibitions and looking after my own budget. This amounts to approximately 10 major events a year as well as many smaller ones and ranges from designing the company’s promotional stand, clothing, literature and giveaways for Europe’s biggest Cloud Expo, to arranging a high-end golf competition for customers and partners from scratch. My role covers pre-event planning and design and post event support as well as overall campaign co-ordination. I constantly source events that are suitable for iomart to attend as well as working with the wider marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all our events.

My role with this company was very much administrative, whilst providing customer service to the general public. I was also charged with designing a database in order to store information from our clients. It was also my duty to maintain the running of this database, ensuring that the information was kept up to date and accurate.
