About Marina Rubert
I was graduated in Biology and in Biochemistry by the University of Balearic Islands (Spain) in 2006. After graduating, I went to the Department of Biomaterials at the University of Oslo (UiO, Oslo) to work in collaboration with the spin-off company Numat AS. I obtained my PhD from the University of Balearic Islands in 2013 where I studied the role of potential therapeutic biomolecules in bone regeneration and on the development of new biomaterials to restore function in compromised skeletal structures. After my postdoctoral fellow at ELECTROMED group (iNANO center, Aarhus, Denmark), in 2014 I joined at the Laboratory for Bone Biomechanics (LBB) (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) as recipient of a Marie Curie IEF postdoctoral scholarship. I have a lot of expertise in cell biology (single and co-cultures of both primary (human) and cell lines) and molecular biology, 3D tissue engineering including manufacturing of scaffolds using both conventional methods or (3D bioprinting and electrospinning) and on development of new biomaterials to promote tissue regeneration or decrease cell inflammation response upon material implantation. From 2018 I was enrolled as Biosafety officer and the Laboratory Manager. Since 2019 I was Senior Scientist (Oberassistent) and leading the 'Personalized Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine' team. My work has resulted in up to now in 30 peer-reviewed publications (and 7 in preparation). She has participated in R&D projects (researcher). From 2014-2020 I have been Lecturer on the course Developmental strategies for medical implants at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (ETH Zurich). I have extensive experience as supervising undergraduate, graduated, Ph.D students and Postdocs (2 bachelor students, 7 master students and co-supervises actively 2 PhD students and direct supervisor of 2 PhD students, 3 postdoctol fellows). I am a member of the editorial board for Biomaterials and Biosystems and acts as reviewer editor at Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechology journal. I contribute regularly as reviewer of scientific publications in international journals. Since 2020 I am a member of the scientific committee for SSB+RM. I have experience in grant application preparation and submissions. I have acquired funding under different program schemes (6).
