During my internship at Freiburger Medizintechnik, I had the valuable opportunity to contribute to the development of an innovative dental device aimed at treating peri-implantitis using plasma technology. In particular, I carried out tests on the electrical, thermal and mechanical safety of the product according to the current European standard, DIN EN 60601-1, for electrical medical products. In order to do so, I collaborated closely with the engineering team to identify potential safety concerns and recommend design modifications for improved safety and functionality. Detailed test plans, documented procedures, and recorded accurate data throughout the testing process was also done. I supported the creation of safety documentation and risk assessment reports, contributing to the overall regulatory compliance of the dental device.

Study of the potential of using 3D printing and thermoplastic materials for designing and fabricating casts for children with physical disabilities. A review of the recent literature on the benefits of thermoplastic orthoses for improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life for children with neuromuscular disorders was done. Overall, the findings suggest that using thermoplastic material in positioning systems can be an effective intervention for improving the functional abilities of children with physical disabilities, with the aim of improving the quality of care and overall experience for these children.
