My project involves the use of cell lines and in-vitro techniques to elucidate the effects of endocrine disruptors on the physiology of the gonadotrope and GnRH neuron. I am studying the effects on signal transduction pathways, hormone secretion and cell proliferation.My main, long term interest is to study how the central nervous system controls reproduction, and how external stimuli, such as food or environmental agents, can alter this regulation. I plan to use in-vivo as well as in-vitro approaches to study this regulation, and the mechanisms involved in it.

Since 2011, I have been working in the effects of PPARgamma in reproduction. We use knock-out mouse models to investigate how the loss of PPARgamma on various tissues can alter their reproductive capacity.

Since I joined Dr Nicholas Webster’s lab, I have been trained in cellular and molecular techniques and the use of cell lines. I used viral vectors to over express proteins involved with GnRH signaling in the LbetaT2 cell line. I also collaborated with other members from the lab to investigate the sensitivity of FSHbeta subunit to pulsatile GnRH. The result of this collaboration was a publication in Molecular Endocrinology.

I worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine, UBA. I was in charge of a class of about 50 students and taught subjects related to human biochemistry, with topics ranging from solutions to Krebs Cycle. My duties also involved grading exams and helping with the laboratory work. I also worked as a TA in the Department of Biological Chemistry, School of Sciences, UBA. I taught in two courses, Biological Chemistry and Phisiological Chemistry.

I worked as an undergraduate researcher in the lab of Neuroendocrinology at IByME-CONICET. I did my MSc thesis on the "Antiproliferative Effects of GnRH in an Experimental Ovarian Tumor"

During the period of time I worked in GMA, I worked in the Finances Department. I worked in the Taxes Area, in close connection with the Accounting, Sales and Billing Departments, and outside the company, with banks and regulatory agencies (DGI, among others). I found my training in GMA to be extremely useful, specially because it helped me to develop my interpersonal skills. I had to deal with different kinds of people in different kinds of environments.
