Sr Principal Scientific Product ManagerNovartis Institutes For Biomedical Research (Nibr) Jan 2022 - PresentBasel, Baselstadt, ChLead the growth and development of high-impact scientific software products in drug discovery, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions. Partner with business leaders to define product visions and roadmaps, facilitate prioritization, and foster innovation. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards across matrixed teams.● Spearheaded the integration of machine learning initiatives into existing workflows to improve operational efficiency and data accessibility. ● Led the development of a library to enable data scientists to access, publish, and share data (FAIR data), improving their productivity. Built consensus, identified user needs and data quality improvements, organized focus groups, and championed a user-centric approach to “build solutions that users will use”.● Facilitated prioritization and alignment between groups from Research and Corporate to deliver on the much-needed improvement of the HPC capabilities. Partnered with several teams to unlock the qualification of the clusters, help with planning the hardware refresh and software migration, and create a unified working group OneHPC, resulting in a more positive user engagement. -
Principal Scientist, Project LeaderNova Biomedical May 2017 - 2021Waltham, Ma, UsManaged two projects, one from pilot to release and the second one through all prototyping stages. Responsible for project planning, defining critical features in every device module at every design iteration, clarifying scope of work, and developing tasks to maximize efficiency and optimize use of resources.● Designed data collection and performed analysis; prepared visualizations for senior managers and stakeholders.● Managed up to 6 direct reports across 2 projects: planned objectives and milestones, scheduled daily activities, and coached/mentored.● Led design reviews, data analysis, documentation and design controls for a new product improving quality at initial time of release, cutting product rejection rate up to 90% in some instances and implementing quality management system between business units, managed CROs, and other vendors.● Reduced manufacturing time by 75% by optimizing information flow.● Restructured development team and introduced network based data centralization (numerical and textual) to transition from pilot to release; led the optical improvement that reached 100% acceptance criterias of method validation; precision linearity, robustness; increased data access resulted in improved management, error reduction, and increased team satisfaction. -
Data Science Training FellowHarvard Extension School Oct 2019 - Apr 2020Cambridge, Ma, UsWith physics and programming experience, my interest in data led me to the Data Analytics Bootcamp; a comprehensive course in python, intermediate SQL, ELT, data wrangling, data visualization, descriptive and inferential statistics, and machine learning. The program required to complete two capstone projects and additionally expanded to an image processing project:● Image Processing-Convolution-Deep Learning Covid-19:Prototype ML tool to help in the diagnosis of covid-19 from x-ray images: convolutional neural network using Keras, TensorFlow and deep learning in Google Colab. Defined and created ETL pipelines, data analysis and image processing (OpenCV, Python, ML). ● NLP and ML- text classification: Applied several ML algorithms to predict false job posts. Wrote the NLP pipeline (TFIDF and NMF) (Spark and Pandas) to analyze a dataset of >17000 posts. Performed Feature Selection. Applied and optimized ML algorithms, and visualization (Matplotlib). Contributed to the HTML code in JavaScript. ● Covid-19 Dashboard:Responsible for data engineering: ETL including data design using ERD, data extraction, transformation (Pandas) and loading to SQL (postgreSQL, sqlalchemy). For the Dashboard, built interactive map (leaflet.js and plugin libraries) in JavaScript and HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, D3 and data visualization. The bootcamp had many small projects applying visualization, Tableau, JavaScript, statistics, ML, and big data. I was so fond of it that I decided to continue scientific endeavors as a data scientist. -
Senior Scientist IiNova Biomedical Jun 2015 - Mar 2017Waltham, Ma, UsCoordinated interdisciplinary team of chemists, mechanical, optical and software engineers, and directed the progression of medical device detection projects from proof of concept to feasibility phase.● Developed a novel chemiluminescent measurement scheme which resulted in increasing signal sensitivity and increased 3 times the measurement dynamic range.● Led team of scientists for detection biomarkers using formulated and optimized reagents, freeze-dried preparations, and proprietary chemical preparations that reached proof-of-concept milestones.● Evaluated third party technologies for acquisition as subject-matter expert and performed necessary due-diligence by planning feasibility studies, data collection, in-depth statistical analysis and presented results to internal and external stakeholders that led to corporate decisions.. -
Senior ScientistNova Biomedical Mar 2014 - Jun 2015Waltham, Ma, UsEstablished a novel immunoassay platform for detection of biomarkers in blood that led to the formation of the Immunochemistry group. -
