I use what people say against them.That was me explaining poorly what I usually do. In reality, I am a physicist highly passionate about Computational Sciences and Language, and that is why I decided on pursuing a Master's degree in Neurosciences.As a kid, I knew that I wanted to be a scientist. I was unsure about what I would do because I had so many possibilities, and I loved that. I decided to be a physicist so I could study the entire universe. Well, I did learn how to deal with high amounts of data. Being a physicist ignited my desire to solve problems efficiently, but it lacked something. I was specializing in Astrophysics, working on stellar data, and it seemed great to know what the Universe tells us with spectra, rotation, light polarization. Still, I realized that it was a solitaire job. Also, being one of the few women in the department was not easy.It was my voice that was missing. I had a solid aspiration to advocate for gender equality in STEMM, contribute to my community, and make the world better for minorized groups. I wanted to hear other voices too. Understand language, culture, history, and development. I enrolled in a Neurosciences Master's degree that helped me to achieve all that. My main project focuses on analyzing semantic and structural aspects of language using Natural Language Processing. Specifically, I use deep learning techniques to evaluate semantic attributes of large text corpora and Graph Theory to assess diverse structural aspects of spontaneous speech, such as connectivity and recurrence. These tools are exceptionally relevant to aid psychiatric diagnoses, as shown with psychosis, Alzheimer's, and others. So, I use what people say to help them.My specialties include robust experience with Python programming and its essential modules for data analysis (NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas), data mining, statistical analysis, sentiment analysis, multidisciplinary research, and experiment designing.
