About Marina Tomás
Data Analyst at Numera People Analytics, specialized in analyzing, organizing, cleaning, modeling, and visualizing data, as well as creating dashboards. My passion lies in R and the entire Tidyverse philosophy, but I also have expertise in Python, SQL, STATA, and SPSS.I hold a Master's degree in Sociology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with a focus on the sociology of knowledge, science, and technology, and I'm a member of the InCiTe-UFMG Observatory (Innovation, Citizenship, Technoscience). In addition, I'm a graduate in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), with one year of sandwich course completed at Newcastle University (Chemical Engineering with Sustainable Engineering MEnG), and I also hold a degree in Chemistry from the Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG).During my Master's, I employed regression and classification methods to profile Brazilians' perceptions of climate change and understand which characteristics of the Brazilian population are most closely linked to these profiles. I explored the data using latent class analysis, decision trees, and logistic regression, using R, Python, SPSS, and Stata. During this time, I also created a visualization of the results in the form of a dashboard as part of the research grant program "Climate Change in Brazilians' Perception," using Python and Dash. Additionally, I taught an introductory course on Python applied to the Demographic Census during my Master's.As a former researcher at the National Institute of Public Communication of Science and Technology (INCT-CPCT), I have experience in data analysis and questionnaire development for the institute's national surveys on science and technology perception.I have a quick learning ability in various areas and and have an aptitude for working well in teams with diverse technical and knowledge-based profiles.
