As a GIS and Carbon Credit Coordinator at TreeFolks, I contribute to the organization's mission of empowering Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees. I use my GIS skills to map, monitor, and measure the carbon sequestration potential of urban and rural forests, and to support the development and implementation of carbon credit projects. I also collaborate with landowners, partners, and stakeholders to promote the benefits of tree planting and forest restoration for climate mitigation and adaptation.I apply my knowledge of biogeography, landscape ecology, sustainability, and anthropology to collect and analyze data, create maps and models, and communicate findings to academic and public audiences. In addition, I work as a Research Engineering/Scientist Assistant at The Ryan Lab, Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior at UT Austin, where I assist in bioacoustics research, through database management and archival work.I am passionate about sustainability and ecosystem resilience research, and I seek to apply my skills and experience to future-oriented and adaptive fields.
