    For the 2014-2015 school year, I am a Rabbinic Fellow and Intern. The Fellowship is part of The Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati Fellowship through Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Cincinnati. This year my responsibilities are a little different than last year. I will focus on infusing Judaism into programming of all types while working with all of the students in the Association of Jewish Students. Part of this will include a class that I will teach which includes discovery of Jewish identity, in-depth text studies on relevant and contemporary topics, an infusion of Judaism 101, and any other topics the students would like to explore. Another aspect I will further develop with the students is interfaith programming with other groups on campus so that we build a strong Miami community. Also, I am applying for grants with different organizations to hone my skills in grant writing and allow for the students to have larger and more incredible programming.For the school year 2013-2014, I held the same title and had different responsibilities than the current year. I worked in conjunction with the students in the Association of Jewish Students to further Jewish learning at their programming. I focused on creating a new prayerbook for their use for their Friday night Shabbat services weekly. I worked closely with the Religous Cultural Co-Chairs in developing programming for Jewish holidays and those with Jewish themes.

    While working at this summer camp, I was in charge of 42 14-16 year old campers and supervised 4 staff members. Each day had 5 hours of time that the Chalutzim staff under my direction needed to fill with programming. The programming was focused on teen issues, Jewish identity, Israel, building leadership skills, as well as general life skills. Within the six weeks that the campers were at camp, I took all of the campers and 5 staff members to Nantahala Outdoor Center in North Carolina for a week long trip of outdoor fun, challenging experiences and more opportunities for building individual leadership skills. Before the campers arrived, the staff and I had two and a half weeks to prepare for their arrival including planning all of the programming. This was accomplished in record time and with programs that were effective and memorable. The programs were all organized in binders; one for each staff member. I delegated so that each staff member was responsible for one program a week so that each of us was the "go to" person for that program and responsible for getting all of the materials ready before the program would begin.As part of my role as unit head, I also helped out with the K'tanim program for our 3-5 year old day campers for a week before the arrival of the Chalutzim campers. Not only was I focused on my campers and staff within Chalutzim but I was an active member of the Jacobs' staff as a whole and the Leadership Team for Senior Staff. At this job I expanded my leadership skills, focused on programming of all different types, and learned to manage and supervise staff and campers. Part of managing the staff included evaluations as well as daily feedback and delegation for myself and all of the staff members.The staff members were 18-20 and 3 of them were in college while the other was in the Israeli army. With both Israeli staff and campers, I was able to integrate the American and Israeli campers and staff.

    I taught two courses every Sunday night. For 9th-10th graders I taught a beginner's Modern Hebrew course. The course focused on vocabulary that would help them get around Israel when they go on a trip in the future. The idea was to encourage them even more to go on a trip to Israel. I helped them construct sentences and learn how to have conversations. The final "project" was creating a video where they created a conversation completely in Hebrew that they decided should take place in a clothing store. The final product was very funny and showed how much they had learned and how much fun they could have in a class.For 11th - 12th graders I taught Israeli culture classes for those students who had been to Israel previously. The course expanded on their experiences and made them relevant to their lives back in the States. I focused on music, Jewish identity, current events, and more.
