Petrocchi's current research interests include the study of techniques for formal modeling and verification of security protocols, ranging from multicast/broadcast security to web services security, passing through, e.g., e-voting procedures, digital certificate delivery and maintenance, privacy ofmobile agents, protocols for identity federation, to cite some of the case studies of interest.Techniques based on process algebras and automata so called Team Automata have been developed for the verification of security properties.Also, current fields of interest are the cooperation and trust management in distributed, mobile systems, with particular attention to the definition of languages dealing with levels of trust and adaptable policies. Finally, security architecture for biologically inspired networks is at study, as well as policy refinement within a data sharing agreement context.
