I studied economics and political science at UCLA and graduated in 2020. I then completed a graduate certificate in finance with a specialization in real estate investment. While my career trajectory pointed to finance & banking, I had a powerful love for food & wine on the side. After three years working full-time in finance while concurrently studying to become a sommelier (which, early on, I convinced myself was just going to be a hobby…), I finally decided to leave finance and pursue a totally new career path. Currently, I am studying many aspects of the culinary & beverage world/restaurant industry through books, online courses (ServSafe Mgr, Le Cordon Bleu, BASSET etc.), and hands-on experience at my full-time job as Food & Beverage Coordinator. In addition, I am continuing my pursuit of my sommelier certifications (WSET Level 3) while also studying other wine resources in my free time. While this period of my life may be one of the most transitional, I look forward to a future career that fulfills my creative interests and curious mind.
