Working with GE's Global Research Center, three tools were developed: scheduling, work in progress (WIP) tracking, and simulation. For the scheduling tool, I mapped over 1500 operations in the shop which allowed production control to improve their commit accuracy metrics. With WIP tracking, production control was also enhanced by automating the vouchering system to show more about part movement through the shop (rework loops and queue time). Lastly, bottleneck identification, on time delivery and capacity planning were all enhanced by the simulation tool.Reinvigorated the additive masking project after being stagnant for nearly a year. Used NX Unigraphics to develop masking designs and then tested them in multiple manufacturing operations. Worked with onsite EHS to verify the safety of the masking material in ACSC's operations. Used leadership skills to begin to transform a 60 year old process and greatly reduce time spent masking and cost of masking.Aided in a 5s of the bench area that increased skid lay-down area by 60% and decreased the amount of clutter in the area by 18.5%. Worked with the manufacturing department to ensure proper torque of our bolts along the Panel board lines by creating a Hardware Reference Guide, conducting studies of our current and prospective DC, pneumatic and impact drivers, and redesigning the layout of these drivers along each line. Preventative actions were completed including designing new fixtures and torque trainings.Completed a comprehensive torque training on Eaton's standard's for torque wrench useage, torque standards and the meaning of torque. Trained a total of 187 operators across both the Panel board and Switchboard product lines which resulted in an average 21% improvement in torque knowledge.Worked with a team to identify the gutter covers issue on panel board’s power line 4, created a fishbone diagram to assess the root causes, analyzed warranty information and on the line observations to decide how to implement corrective actions in the process. Such actions included a labeling system with micarta nameplates, updated method sheets, work instructions and a reference document to ensure the correct selection of these covers.Issued standard wiring tools to the Switchboard product line with proper Eaton labeling and compiled a record of these tools for the Calibration Lab. Created a training presentation based on Sumter's existing and newly updated wiring standards. Show less
