Ensured the mental and physical well-being of all youth (ages 12-18) under the care of the residential home. My role consisted in providing children with a wide range of diagnoses and socioeconomic backgrounds with care, compassion, and active listening to facilitate a transition to future placements/reincorporation into their home. I acquired the ability to use various forms of de-escalation techniques and handle times of crises across campus. I concurrently worked with mental health professionals (i.e., psychiatrists, MSW, Psy.D, etc) to create individual treatment plans to ensure the progress of clients as well as conduct ongoing observations to note client improvements. I lead various individual and/or group workshops to improve client's life skills and coping skills.

Led and directed an average caseload of 75-125 individuals in professional development workshops and individual meetings to better employment rates in South Central Los Angeles. I met with participants of the program on a weekly or biweekly basis to maintain an up to date report of their work and career status while inputting all data in spreadsheets, reports, and online city databases. As the mono-lingual specialist, I was in charge of overseeing the progress of enrolled Spanish speaking participants. Aside from assisting individuals with the application process online, I also assisted individuals with the paperwork process to assist them in attaining the appropriate certifications and training needed to retain employment or enter new industries in the workforce. Working as a FamilySource representative and sub-contracted by the WorkSource Center, I was the liaison between multiple locations in order to achieve a highly efficient workplace and provide all participants with both professional development services and social services alike.

Responsible for implementing replacement behaviors for children with behavioral disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. I worked with children of all ages placed on all ranges of their spectrum disorder. Having been the sole therapist in most cases, I was given the opportunity to work alongside program managers and directors to implement new strategies to better develop the children in my caseload's overall mental growth. Working both in school and in home cases, I have the proven ability to work in varying environments while strictly adhering to their respective policies. I had excellent reviews in communications skills whether to update case notes and reports, or to maintain an orderly schedule with schools, parents, directors, and/or scheduling members. All cases showed advancements in positive replacement behaviors as well as exponential growth in functional communication and coping strategies with the the programs implemented by school representatives, parents, and company directors.

Worked to provide best quality service for our customers as well as manage crew of undergraduate students throughout the day. Scheduled, interviewed, and trained incoming new hires to the establishment. Managed the safekeeping of the finances for the day.

I worked alongside medical students and undergraduate coordinators as well as medical staff and doctors at the Saban Clinic in their Melrose location. The goal of this program was to provide comfort, relief, and medical documentation assistance for the undeserved indigent community of the greater Los Angeles area, specifically those residing in West Hollywood / Santa Monica. I would assess their need for further medical needs through a mobile clinic where I would ask about their personal life along as assess their mental and physical health with the help of medical students and health professionals. If needed, I would then set up an appointment for them and go with them to said appointment to facilitate their process in their medical appointments.

As a Care Extender I worked along side nurses, doctors, and care partners to provide the best possible bedside treatment for patients of all ages and conditions. I have done rotations in pediatric, liver transplant, and oncology units at the Ronald Reagan Hospital at UCLA. I have shadowed nurses and doctors alike in their daily rounds at various times throughout the day. Here I was awarded the care extender of the rotation, given to those that excel in their helpfulness and involvement both with medical professionals and patients alike. My bedside manner were propelled tremendously while also improving my development of efficiently communicating patient needs in a professional manner.

As a caseworker in the referrals committee, it was my duty to assess the needs of homeless clients in the greater Los Angeles area, more so centered around those in need in Santa Monica and West Hollywood. Working with health professionals varying in degrees and titles (e.g., attending doctors, medical students, public health consultants, optometrists, physical therapists) as a caseworker I asked clients about their personal struggles and was a shoulder to cry on as well as referring them to the best free clinics to continue their progress through the road to better health. In the time apart from street side care I was in charge of updating sites and coordinating site visits on a bi-monthly basis with my committee and co-caseworkers (typically a group of 7), as well as translating from English to Spanish on a regular basis both verbally and in writing.
