I gained many years on experiences in developing pilot projects of innovative photovoltaic solutions and smart stand-alone energy solutions for rural areas in developing countries. I performed energy audits and doing analysis of system energy efficiency. I have expert skills in fund raising. I also have experiences with Design of Experiments and Pareto chart analysis. In addition, I got more than 3 years experiences in analysing the market potential of renewable energies in Sub-Saharan Africa.My research is of interdisciplinary nature. The main focus is solar and thermoelectrical energy materials. I am developing and investigating new renewable energy materials in view of practical product developments to produce electrical energy from both solar energy and heat. Another research focus is on developments of sensors and their integration in smart energy control devices. I also develop innovative solutions for building-integrated thermoelectric (BITE). In the past, I am an experienced researcher in both modelling and analysing self-organized growth phenomena, energy conversion processes in solar cells, fluctuation theorems in small systems, thermal activated hopping transport in disordered semiconductors and image analysis. I have a strong background in material characterization, statistical analysis methods and the development simulation algorithm.
