BiographyMario Ferrante was born in Torino on 1955 , he received the degree in Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic on 1980. He started to work at Honeywell as Electronic Designer. From 1981 he joined Aeritalia, a company of Finmeccanica ( Former Thales Alena Space ), and he was RAMS and SWPA Engineering of Space Shuttle Payloads and Space Station Columbus program. From 1991 he was appointed as Head of RAMS and SWPA of Manned Programs and Scientific Satellites of Alenia Spazio merged company between Selenia and Aeritalia. He was in charge of Project Manager of various ESA research contract in the frame of RAMS, Quality Human Error Prevention and Safety. From 1998 he was appointed as Head of Quality and Safety dept of Space Infrastructure and Scientific Satellite Directorate of Alenia Spazio. From 2004 to 2005 Head of Alenia Spazio Italy Design Assurance. From 2005 he was Deputy Director of Quality Assurance Operation of Thales Alenia Space JV a company formed by a merger of Alenia Spazioand Alcatel Space, now a JV between Thales and Finmeccanica. from 2008 he held the position of Head of Product Quality of Thales Alenia Space Italy including , SWPA, EEE parts and PMP for Turin, L’ Aquila, Milan Roma and Florence plants ( for Florence up to Leonardo merging ). From 2014 to 2019 Head of Exploration and Science Program Product Assurance & Integration and Production QA , in charge of Quality Assurance improvement of Thales Alenia Space Italy. He is author of various publications on RAMS, Quality , Risk Management and Human Error Prevention. He is teaching at University in international Masters on Quality, Root cause Analyses RAMS , SW Product Assurance and Human error Prevention . Program Committe and Chairman of various International Conference on Flight Safety Risk Management, Human Dependability , Probabilistic Risk Assesment. General chairman of Italian Conferences on Human Error Management , Emergency Maagement, Quality on Aerospace. Co-author of the international Book “Space Safety and Human Perfomances” published by Elsevier on 2017. He received on 2014 , from Italian Republic President, the Star of Merit Award for his Job on Space.From 2013 to 2022 Vice President of AICQ ( Associazione Italiana Cultura Qualità) Piedmont , founded member of International Association for the Advancement of Space Safety ( IAASS) ,from 2019 President of National Aerospace Sector of AICQ.
