Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a group of 16 engineers. (NPI, manufacturing, industrial and product engineers). Create annual business plan for the engineering group aligned with corporative plans. Coordinate and direct continuous improvement projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals. Define and install plant production capacity according with customers’ requirements. Measure and improve plant metrics such as productivity, down time, quality performance, etc. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes. Prepare annual expenses and capital budgets. Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work.New products introduction from product design to mass production.

 Manage a 450 employee’s staff distributed in three shifts including Production General Supervisor, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineer, New Products Introduction Engineer and union personnel. Measure, control and improve department metrics such as productivity, MPS attainment, FTT, PPM internal and external, safety, over time, down time & absenteeism. Plan and impulse engineering new initiatives to improve department performance. Communication with internal and external customers and suppliers. Propose and/or implement cost reduction initiatives. Participation on new products introduction process. (APQP). New process/technologies validation and approval. Preparation and monitoring over all department annual budget. Team leadership on SMED, kaizen and problem solving workshops. Department preparation for ISO14001 and ISO/TS 16949 audits. Permanent corrective action preparation/documentation as required Staff member’s performance evaluation in a semiannual base. Preparation and participation on productive material Annual Physical Inventory. Last year selected achievements:o 10% Productivity increaseo 50% Down time reductiono 20% Scrap reductiono 25% Over time reductiono $80k cost saving at build/pack project.
