I am Data Scientist with 4+ years of direct hands on experience in the field. During this period, I have been working for Global Hitss Colombia, a major company focused on IT. I have been doing analytics at HITSS, in all projects I have been involved in supervising, taking decisions and coding most stages of the trade.When I find that I might personally contribute to a project, I do it by bouncing my ideas off my colleagues and respectfully listening and discussing their comments and ideas. In brief, I give the best in me to make things work out and get any job to a good ending. My contributions have greatly benefited from my previous 27 year academic career in Physics and Geophysics at Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB), a top-tier venezuelan technological institution with a high prestige in Latin America. Thanks to the fact that both fields make a strong use of data and statistics as well as many other very advanced mathematics and computer science technologies, I was in a privileged position to migrate to data science. I am a team player. I try to involve myself in all aspects of any work at hand, making every effort to learn from my colleagues and try to help knowledge flow to wherever it may be needed and try to ease the communication between all team members. I am not a stranger to the world of managing and leadership, indeed, for four years I held the positionof Head of the Department of Physics at USB, at that time the Department size was 36 tenured and 30 nontenured Professors with an auxiliary three people staff. I also held the position of Coordinator of Graduateand Undergraduate studies in Physics. My research in Theoretical Physics has been mainly concerned with Quantum Field Theory and Mathematical Physics. My transdisciplinary interests led me to join forces with a research group on complex systems and interdisciplinary sciences. To this date my research comprises 13 refereed scientific publications, and 29 presentations on scientificmeetings. I have been a long term visiting scientists at both MIT and GeorgiaTech and had also made some short visits to the International Center for Theoretical Physics ICTP (in Italy). I have supervised twoPhD students and 4 Master’s thesis projects -two of them in seismic exploration-. I have also supervised the undergraduate research projects of 38 students, during their research I have been able to show them how to reach for the best in themselves and all of of them succeeded in solving whatever problem I set up
