Mario Gerosa, professional journalist, media, digital culture, cinema and television scholar, graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic. After writing the first book published in Italy on the Second Life phenomenon, he created Synthravels, a travel agency for tours in virtual worlds, collaborated on the screenplay of the film Volavola, shot in Second Life by Berardo Carboni, and wrote the " Convention for the protection of the virtual architectural heritage ”and the Decalogue for the design of virtual galleries. In 2008 he curated the first exhibition in the world on Second Life art, held at the Natural History Museum in Florence.He has taught Multimedia and virtual landscapes: digital art and cities at the Politecnico di Milano and has lectured on digital cultures and virtual worlds in Italy, France and the United States.He has published about twenty books, including Virtual Worlds, Second Life, Virtual Renaissance, Anthology of Italian web-literature, Cinema and technology. In 2022 he published "Architettura ludica", a book about playful architecture, where he examines the architectures of toys, considering a parallel history of architecture, with its own styles. In articles and essays he has dealt with tourism in videogames, virtual architecture, degrees of virtualization, Techno Middle Ages, parallel chronology within virtual worlds, playful architecture, and on AD he published a report on the most beautiful houses in Second Life.He wrote two novels, Caleidoscopio and Il collezionista di respiri, an art thriller set in the world of contemporary art, finalist for the International Prize for Literature of the City of Como and in Garfagnana in Giallo.For more than twenty years he worked in Condé Nast, where he was editor-in-chief of Traveller and where, for more than fifteen years, he held the position of managing editor of AD. He teaches Art and Virtual Worlds at the Accademia Aldo Galli in Como and he is responsible for the press office of Martino Crespi Events.
