I took BS in Information Technology out of curiosity, but it got far more interesting when I was asked to build e-voting website for our college department. I thought we were just having fun and learning building website until the impact showed up: from 3 days of manual labor of school staff reduced to a few seconds. Then we were paid by the high school department to build the same thing for them.I got a job at Canon Business Machines Philippines, Inc. as an IT Assistant under Network Team and then transferred to Application Team when they realized I have more potential in building websites and most probably because I keep creating web applications as monitoring tools and I kept nudging them. It was risky but it was fun. I pioneered web application development there establishing Equipment Borrowing System, Services Request Management System, Payment Request System, and System Mailer which centralizes the web application systems e-mail notifications and reducing development hours for the future projects. These systems' usage skyrocketed with the reinforcement of paperless applications as part of the new normal in the company. After establishing internal web development in CBMP, I got a job as Digital Adoption Builder in Globe Telecom under Yondu Inc. A work I didn't knew existed until I got the job. It gives me insight and experience in how very large companies maintains and operates enterprise software. Our work mostly includes planning contents with product owners, build contents, and assess the usage of the contents. It's fun knowing how curiosity leads to improvements, and I am always wondering how far I could go. Right now, I am under #100DaysOfCoding Challenge as an attempt to progress as self-taught developer. I am failing at some point, but the fun in learning is what I value the most at these sandbox.
