I am first inspired when I shape the material, giving it a practical use. Designing a product for me implies being able to master the material and its transformation. All my designs are born and evolve through models and prototypes. My passion in designing a product is to work with experts and manufacturers and create a synergy with them, and then to carry an idea through to the smallest detail of its production. Throughout the process, I constantly look for simplicity and evidence. In my perspective, the term design quality applies to a user-oriented object considered as a whole. When all parts of an object are in harmony, then each form, each material plays an indispensable role. In 2012, I co-found the company TIWAL SAS and designed an inflatable sailboat. TIWAL 3 is a truly innovative product that challenges the very traditional world of the sailing dinghy. It is stored in two bags and can be carried in a car trunk. It allows many sea lovers to sail easily and freely with their own sailboat (more than 1000 TIWAL are sailing in more than 45 countries ! ). TIWAL SAS is pushing the boundaries of creation with new manufacturing techniques, especially inflatable materials. Our challenge is to ease access to nature and to the sea.
