In 1980 I began my employment at the college as a teacher, then worked in the Academic Skills Centre for 2 years. Since then I have worked in Counselling Services as a psychologist. I learned a lot about how the college functions through my 6 years experience as an elected member to Dawson's Board of Governors and also by participating as a member of the Executive Committee during the same time period. For more than 20 years I coordinated Dawson's mentor program which gave me the opportunity to get to know many amazing staff members. Mentors were then matched with new students who volunteered to participate in our Mentor program which, in turn, helped them to make a smooth transition to the college. Presently, I feel very privileged to continue to counsel many creative, wonderful young adults while they strive to achieve their full academic and personal potential.
