    Mijn promotieonderzoek heb ik uitgevoerd bij de vakgroep Biofysica Faculteit Natuur- en Sterrenkunde van de VU. Titel van het Proefschrift: 'New pathways for ultrafast electron transfer in the photosynthetic reaction center of Rhodobacter sphaeroides.' In dit onderzoeksproject heb ik met ultrasnelle spectroscopie de primaire processen onderzocht in fotosynthetische bacteriën. Dit onderzoeksproject heeft geleid tot de ontdekking van alternatieve routes van ultrasnelle biologische elektronentransport in de fotosynthese.
